The Environment Group forms part of the wider Genesis Advisory and where required, our environmental professionals have access to over 600 multi-discipline engineers internationally (and extensive further support through the wider Technip Energies group).

What we are looking for

Due to a busy and diverse project portfolio we are looking for an Air Quality Specialist with experience of industrial sites. If you are passionate about the Energy Transition and enjoy a fast-paced working environment, then we would love to hear from you.

We are working with our clients to manage the air quality impact of energy provision as the Energy Transition gathers pace. These new challenges are driving even closer collaboration between the engineering and environmental teams in Genesis and we are growing our existing team to support these exciting projects. You will support environmental assessments and studies for a variety of projects in the UK and overseas with a particular focus on air quality assessments for new developments, environmental permits and preparing studies in support of the Environmental Impact Assessment process.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work within the Environment Team, interfacing with the wider Genesis organisation through interactions with other discipline teams and providing environmental technical inputs on a variety of projects for public and private clients in the UK and overseas.

The team provides a wide variety of environmental consulting, typical responsibilities include:
  • Preparation of Air Quality Assessment for new and existing sites in the energy sector including power generation and carbon capture plant.
  • Characterisation, quantification, and forecasting of energy sector emissions and discharges.
  • Preparation of new environmental permit applications and / or variations to existing applications (with emphasis on those related to combustion plant i.e. Pollution Prevention & Control).
  • Review of engineering design documentation and drawings in support of environmental studies.
  • Support with training and mentoring junior staff and help them develop their knowledge and experience in the sector.
  • Identification and interpretation of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provision of environmental engineering technical and compliance advice.
  • Input to HAZID/ENVID reviews and multi-discipline engineering projects.
  • Interaction with clients to ensure delivery of requirements to agreed scope, schedule and budget.


Required skills & experience:
  • University degree qualified in engineering or science.
  • Member of the Institute of Air Quality Management.
  • Extensive experience with ADMS or Aermod on complex industrial sites. Experience with energy from waste plants and CCS is desirable.
  • Environmental permitting and regulator liaison experience
  • Experience as lead author / approver of Air Quality Assessments.
  • Knowledge of industrial emissions legislation and environmental permitting.
  • Knowledge of environmental engineering techniques and solutions (pollution control and mitigation).
  • Strong time-management, planning and organisational abilities.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent written skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to think innovatively.
  • Commercial awareness.
