We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of small to medium-sized multidisciplinary engineering projects. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the engineering aspects of operational and capital projects, collaborating with various departments, and driving improvements to our milling processes and infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of small to medium-sized multidisciplinary engineering projects. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the engineering aspects of operational and capital projects, collaborating with various departments, and driving improvements to our milling processes and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Engineering Support: Lead and manage small to medium-sized engineering projects, from conception through to completion, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule are met.
- Management of Change (MOC): Oversee and administer the management of change process for facility modifications and ensure compliance with established safety and operational procedures.
- Design and Planning: Identify project requirements and develop detailed designs for repairs, upgrades, and new projects to enhance the facility.
- Collaboration with Operational Teams: Work closely with tradespeople, operators, and other stakeholders to implement best practices, drive continuous improvement, and maintain operational efficiency.
- Risk Assessment: Participate in risk assessments for both new designs and existing circuits, ensuring safety and performance standards are upheld.
- Cross-Disciplinary Problem Solving: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and operational personnel to identify and resolve process issues.
- Process and Improvement Initiatives: Identify and propose opportunities for operational improvement. Develop project proposals for management’s consideration and support ongoing optimization efforts.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and development-focused work environment.
- Feasibility Studies and Cost Estimates: Lead the development of feasibility studies, value engineering, and cost estimates to support continuous improvement initiatives and project decision-making.
- Process Enhancement: Recommend and implement engineering processes and procedures to ensure optimal performance and safety across operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Industrial, or Chemical).
- Experience:
- 10 years of experience in an engineering role, with significant exposure to industrial settings.
- Proven track record of managing or supporting engineering projects within the mining, milling, or industrial sectors.
- Experience working directly with stakeholders, including tradespeople and operators, to troubleshoot design changes and improve operational processes.
- Technical Expertise:
- Solid understanding of engineering codes, standards, and best practices as applied to mining and milling operations.
- Experience in risk assessment, feasibility studies, and managing engineering change.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across disciplines to achieve project success.
- Additional Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in project management tools and techniques
