No experience / No degreeWe have partnered with our Tier One Mining & Energy client to find the next Senior Data Scientist to join the team as a key player to develop and deliver AI solutions.
Role Details:
• Location: Perth, CBD
• Hours: 40 hours per week / 8 hour days
• Duration: ASAP Start – Mid December 2025
• Flexible Working - WFH 2 days per week
Role Overview
The team are looking for an individual with a deep understanding of data and statistical analysis to do deep dives in real world operations data.
The focus would be someone who can:
1) explore and identify opportunities for forecasting in various aspects of operations and create forecasting models.
2) perform deep analysis of the supply chain performance to find opportunities and mechanisms for optimization.
Key responsibilities
Full working Australian rights will be required. Perth based candidates or candidates planning a relocation to Perth preferred.

Key responsibilities
- Design, development and implementation of AI systems to drive productivity in our integrated operations across mine, rail and port
- Helping identify, quantify and validate efficiency and productivity opportunities for AI systems using data from a wide range of sources
- Engaging and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to shape AI system requirements
- Maintaining the backlogs for AI solution & system development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to prioritise their development
- Staying up to date with developments in AI & ML, and incorporating new techniques and technologies into our AI system design
- An advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or engineering
- Experience (4 years) in data science and AI solution & system development with mining and heavy industrial operations applications preferred
- Strong understanding and practical experience in statistics and machine learning, including causal inference and experimental design
- Strong knowledge of data science tools and technologies, including programming languages such as Python
- Experience in NLP and LLMs is well regarded
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts within a multi-disciplinary product team

- Experience in SQL and platforms such as Snowflake is well regarded
