We are currently recruiting a Controls Engineer for Woodside Energy on an initial 12 month contract to support the Karratha Gas Plant (KGP) Technical Support and Onshore Projects teams to deliver engineering outcomes in support of asset objectives.
In this role you will be working in a multi-discipline engineering team reporting to the KGP Technical Support Lead. The KGP Technical Support and Onshore Projects teams contain 4 x Instrument and Controls Engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform timely turnaround of EPCM deliverables and responses to technical queries to facilitate procurement, contracts, construction, commissioning and project close out activities.
  • Communication of engineering issues to Engineering or discipline lead, highlighting any risks or areas of concern and how these are being managed.
  • Identifying and managing opportunities during "Assess" and "Select" phases.
  • Responsible for preparing the Scopes of Work for minor/medium CAPEX/OPEX activities sufficient to enable outsourcing of detailed engineering work.
  • Responsible for justifying current and future work programs and ensuring their inclusion in the facility budget process.
  • Responsible for managing expenditure and delivery of engineering scope within approved budgets.
  • Providing technical recommendations and agreement for engineering changes and deviations.
  • Responsible for ensuring all modifications follow company Management of Change processes and procedures
  • Perform coordination & delivery of engineering studies and feed back into strategies
  • Monitor contractor and supplier performance and engage Company Representative where recommendations for improvement are necessary.
Skills & Experience:
  • Controls Discipline engineering experience preferably within the O&G industry.
  • Experience with Triconex and Honeywell DCS (TDC3000) highly valued.
  • Ability to provide guidance, expertise to others.
  • Experience in Process Hazard Analysis and Functional Safety  (HAZOP, LOPA, IEC 61511)
  • Ability to identify and assess engineering risks in design and execution.
  • Effective decision making in the presence of uncertainty and risk and considering and balancing business context e.g. technical, cost, schedule.
  • Able to work autonomously – perform investigations, consider impact of deviations, resolve & manage technical issues.
  • Able to influence others, manage priorities effectively. 
  • Effective written, presentation and verbal communication skills to all internal and external levels.
  • Demonstrable people and stakeholder management skills.
 
Desired Qualifications: 
  • Degree qualification in Engineering accredited according to the International Engineering Alliance’s Washington Accord
  • FS Engineer (TUV Rheinland)
