Our Client, an Oil and Gas Operator is currently seeking a Wells Assist & Assure Coach for a 12-month contract with potential to extend.

Position Summary:
The role will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Client’s Wells Assist and Assure program. This consists of audit, train, coach, & mentoring onsite personnel to ensure Competitions operational HSSE agenda focus areas are implemented and sustained on all sites within the region.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Coach onsite supervisors and teams to provide effective implementation of the Wells Assist and Assure program.
  • Assess the embedding of the HSSE agenda focus areas against the Wells requirements.
  • Develop systematic and practical action plans to close any gaps
  • Train, mentor, advise and assist site Wells personnel in the implementation of required action items.
  • Advise Wells site managers superintendents and supervisors in the day-to-day safety matters including dissemination and implementation of the safety policies, rules, and procedures within the scope of offshore operations.
  • Assist Wells site managers to implement and embed HSE programs on Wells site Operations.
  • Participate and present at Wells site HSSE meetings to facilitate sharing of best practices and learnings.
  • Ensure all HSE activities required by Wells or Business Improvement Plan are implemented on site.
  • Develop an approved feedback report for each site visit and present onsite and manage each hitch.
  • Deliver Wells A&A training as required.
  • Promote a HSE aware culture to contractors and staff throughout site.
  • Demonstrate Safety Leadership daily and coach others to be safety leaders as required
  • Coach senior leaders and personally lead by example the delivery of Assist and Assure program and initiatives for cultural change within the Wells operational teams.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the efficient use of their personal time to ensure all tasks are achieved within allocated project plan milestones, or timelines given.
  • Coach onshore Wells and Contractor personnel the Wells Assist and Assure program and initiatives that will be imbedded in the Project.
  • Well Completions Campaign Support the online induction module for Assist and Assure for Wells.
  • Support all campaign start up workshops.
  • Train offshore teams and implement the Assist and Assure program prior to start up.
  • Implement DROPS awareness training for the Wells Completion campaign.
  • Support auding of Wells contractor safety management systems.
  • “Rose Plot” assessment of Wells site activities.
  • Identify Wells Process and Personal Safety improvement areas.
  • Assist with improvement area implementation.
  • Early identification of major risks and hazards.
  • Timely reporting on matters.
  • Improve Regional sharing and communication for Wells HSSE lessons learned and best practices.
  • Intervene as necessary plus coach, mentor, and train others to do likewise
Experience & Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience in the O&G industry, with up to 4 years’ offshore experience
  • Formal HSE Qualification, Site experience with HSE supervisory exposure
  • Implementation of the Wells Assist and Assure program
  • Offshore Completions Offshore Completions or Well Services background.
  • Exposure to Wells operations and Wells process safety principles.
  • Strong experience in managing Wells subcontractors and service providers.
  • Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control.
  • Practical HSE Auditing / Assessment.
  • HSE Management Systems.
  • Experienced in delivering Wells Barrier Ownership program.
  • Experienced in delivering line of fire hazard and risk assessments.
  • Experienced delivering Strength of Controls discussions with work parties during planning phase.
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to work in multi-discipline environment.
  • Contributing to team/unit/company.
  • Superior Planning and Organizing skills.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with all levels within an organization.
  • Proven ability to implement HSE management system requirements in an operational environment.
  • Experience in reporting on HSE and Supervisor performance indicators.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in small teams.
  • Proven ability to engage and coach team members to deliver quality work outcomes.
  • Proven ability to influence change at all levels through open dialogue.
Technical Experience:
  • Rose Plot assurance.
  • User of established HSE systems, techniques, tools & software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Undergraduate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or other undergraduate qualification in a related field plus substantial occupational HSE experience in a heavy industry (e.g., oil and gas, mining, or construction)
  • Sound knowledge of The Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Safety), OPGGS(S) Regulations 2009.
  • Implementation of Assist and Assure safety program.
  • Offshore Wells Completions experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian Offshore Safety Case requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to engage a range of different audiences.
  • Able to effectively liaise with Statutory Authorities, where required.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with ability to interact with staff and management at all levels for improvement of health and safety.
  • Professional report writing skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of a positive HSE culture.
  • Ability to interface with and lead personnel and contractors.
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with a variety of stakeholders including staff, contractors, and external suppliers.
  • Ability to produce routine management reports to deadlines for input into wider reporting systems.
  • Ability to work in a remote location with limited direct supervision
Desirable:
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Operational Experience
  • Operator Experience
  • Wells Completions or Well Services Contractor Experience
  • Ability to undertake domestic travel.
  • Ability to work offshore on a rotational basis.
  • The incumbent may be required to travel to other sites.
