Science / ResearchOur valued client is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Clairmont, AB for a camp-based position.
Job Description:
Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Grande Prairie / Clairmont based
Estimated Start Date: two weeks from offer
End/Renewal Date: 6 months, with possibility of extension or being hired on
Shift: 5 days on, 2 days off Monday – Friday, 40-hour work-week
Primary Responsibilities:
Monday – Friday (40hr/week occasional overtime for an afterhours or weekend test)
Strictly in the lab (no going to the field work)
Perform tests as necessary for fracturing jobs to the standards as set by API
Confirms and reports findings of test and investigates any irregular behavior of our systems or products.
Maintain all Lab equipment and ensure calibrations are according to professional standards.
Perform QA/QC for all critical jobs.
Testing and evaluating new products.
Training of full time and temporary employees in Lab procedures.
Understand all Environmental aspects as related to the Lab and ensure that we are in full compliance and are putting in sufficient effort to minimize our effects to the environment.
Contributes to local programs with the intent of improving the safety and Quality in the Lab.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelors of Science or a Science related trade
Lab experience
Sufficient skills to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word.
Required to pass medical, drug, background & drivers abstract screening
Must live in or near Clairmont, AB or willing to relocate
