NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Project Cost Controller with 5 years of experience to support a portfolio of high-value capital projects for a leading mining operator. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside industry leaders, influence financial outcomes, and deliver robust cost control and forecasting across complex project scopes.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
 

• Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Implement and refine cost control systems, ensuring alignment with project baselines and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
• Perform variance analysis, risk assessments, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews to track and report financial performance.
• Provide cost visibility and actionable insights to support project managers and senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with planning, procurement, finance, and engineering teams to ensure accurate accruals, commitment tracking, and change management.

 
 
 
What You’ll Bring:
 
 

• 5 years’ experience in project cost control, ideally within mining, oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Proficient in cost management tools and systems (SAP, Oracle, Power BI, Excel). Prism G2 
• Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), budgeting principles, and forecasting techniques.
• Ability to interpret complex data sets and present clear financial insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams.

 
 
 
Qualifications:
 
 

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Additional certifications in project controls or cost engineering (e.g., AACE, EVM) are a plus.
