This role provides field inspection and project management support for complex planning and construction projects. It requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution—on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Overview:
This role provides field inspection and project management support for complex planning and construction projects. It requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution—on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections and maintain accurate field documentation.
- Lead and mentor the inspection team to ensure high-quality performance and adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Review OTC/OTP drawings both in-office and on-site, including components such as tie-ins, fittings, and running lines. Validate drawings against pre-engineered locates.
- Ensure projects comply with internal policies as well as external regulatory and municipal requirements.
- Participate in design, constructability, operability, and risk reviews to identify and address potential challenges.
- Provide end-to-end project management support, including:
- Budget estimation and financial tracking
- Contractor selection and procurement assistance
- Support in drafting legal agreements
- Managing field and construction-related changes
- Budget estimation and financial tracking
- Lead construction activities such as testing, tie-ins, and commissioning. Secure necessary resources and approvals, including work permits.
- Provide technical support during construction by resolving design and logistics queries and interpreting specifications.
- Ensure timely handoff of project plans to the execution team, emphasizing the importance of schedule adherence to avoid cost, regulatory, or reputational impacts.
- Maintain and coordinate the customer service installation schedule and communicate regularly with contractors and project leads.
- Travel, both short- and long-term, is required.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Results-driven with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Up to 4 years of experience in inspection, operations, or an engineering environment
- Proficient with MS Office and working knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- Familiarity with asset management and planning tools such as Maximo, e-GIS, and records management systems (an asset)
- Cross-functional knowledge or experience in departments such as Construction, Maintenance & Reliability, Corrosion, Leak Survey, Engineering, or Infrastructure
- Strong understanding of industry regulations, codes, and standards
- GPI certification and a valid G class driver’s license
- Project management certification or equivalent experience
- Comprehensive understanding of planning, design, operations, and construction procedures and policies
