As a Controls Technical Advisor, you will be the subject matter expert for the control systems of Siemens V94.2 gas turbines, supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and commissioning activities. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure optimal turbine performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and field support for the control systems of Siemens V94.2 gas turbines, including troubleshooting, calibration, and upgrades.
  • Lead or support the installation, commissioning, and start-up of control systems on customer sites.
  • Conduct site surveys, develop functional design specifications, and recommend improvements for control system reliability and performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex control system issues, both remotely and on-site, minimizing downtime and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including inspection reports, repair specifications, and work scopes.
  • Interface with customers to provide technical advice, training, and recommendations for control system upgrades or modifications.
  • Support project teams in preparing technical quotations and proposals for controls-related work.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure project delivery aligns with technical and quality standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Siemens V94.2 turbine controls, related PLCs (e.g., Siemens S7, Allen Bradley), HMI/SCADA systems, and industry best practices.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Significant hands-on experience with Siemens V94.2 (or similar heavy-duty gas turbine) control systems, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley RSLogix, etc.) and HMI/SCADA platforms (Citect,SCADA, WinCC, FactoryTalk, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of turbine auxiliary systems (vibration monitoring, fuel control, safety interlocks).
  • Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work in field environments, including international assignments.
  • Experience with technical documentation, report writing, and preparing work scopes.
