About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Controller to join our team at the Surmont location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and turnarounds, with a focus on cost management and financial tracking. This role will also include administrative duties to support project operations and ensure smooth cost control processes. This is a fly-in, fly-out position with camp accommodation, and there is potential for a permanent role based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Control Management
- Monitor and track project costs, ensuring all expenses are within budget.
- Build, maintain, and close work orders in SAP, keeping them updated with daily changes.
- Review and update cost management related to daily maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate approvals for estimates and change requests from project managers and send them to contractors as needed.
- Attend daily maintenance meetings and provide updates on cost-related matters.
- Maintain accurate cost logs, work order records, and related documentation for project cost tracking.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost projections.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and policies in project cost management.
- Maintain folders for MOC processes, including estimates, approvals, CRs, and other necessary documents.
Administrative Support
- Perform administrative duties such as managing onboarding for new hires, including visitor attestation, user ID creation, email setup, and SAP access.
- Enter IT requests for shared emails, system issues, and maintain an IT log.
- Maintain comprehensive logs for team members, including onboarding progress and documentation.
- Assist with tracking and ordering office supplies, promotional items, PPE, and maintaining workstations and equipment.
- Review and process Bluewave fuel invoices in GEP and keep logs for fleet vehicles and fuel cards.
- Coordinate and schedule monthly safety meetings and maintain contact lists and whereabouts calendars for teams.
- Support the team with any administrative tasks as required to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cost control within construction/turnarounds/industrial setting is considered an asset
- Strong proficiency in SAP for managing work orders and financial tracking.
- In-depth understanding of project cost management and budgeting processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
