Kintec are currently partnered with a pioneering Green Steel Production Company who are constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel - Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO₂ compared conventional steel production.
Category Manager
The Category Manager is an active and engaged team member within the client Procurement Management team in support of Project Leads, Construction Managers and other stakeholders. The role will be a direct report to the Procurement Manager / Procurement Director and functionally to the Site Construction Manager / Area Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts to execution sourcing activities related to Site related contracts and other commitments
- Work as part of an integrated cross-functional Site team
- Addresses procurement and commercial related matters in terms of risks and identifying and implementing mitigation measures
- Ensure a flexibility approach whilst adhering to clients' requirements and standards;
- Support the Project Site and Procurement teams in defining and executing sourcing strategies
- Drafting and issuing of Requests for Proposals (RFP) for various construction, civil works, services, equipment, materials and such like
- Conduct negotiations with tenders
- Conduct proposal evaluations towards award recommendations and subsequent contract awards
- Participation in the reviewing and examination of contracts in support of post award negotiations
- Coordination and alignment with other category managers
- Provide support in the uniform interpretation of contractual provisions in negotiations of Change Requests, Change Orders, claims and implementation of lessons learned
- Support of Project Site and Procurement teams regarding contractual issues and correspondence (externally as well as internally)
- Interface with other departments such as Legal, Engineering, Finance, Technical, etc.
- Provide support on contractual issues, risk and opportunities and assistance in the identification, capture, analysis, mitigation and tracking of project risks
- Ensuring working in compliance with client policies, procedures and systems (ACC, GEP and others).
