Job Summary: Our client is seeking a Buyer to provide purchasing leadership for sourcing and procurement of materials and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) services at our Honeoye Falls, NY manufacturing facility. The Buyer will play a key role in developing and optimizing the supply base to ensure high-quality products, competitive pricing, and efficient service.

Job Summary: Our client is seeking a Buyer to provide purchasing leadership for sourcing and procurement of materials and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) services at our Honeoye Falls, NY manufacturing facility. The Buyer will play a key role in developing and optimizing the supply base to ensure high-quality products, competitive pricing, and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Materials & Supply Chain Management: Support procurement activities for materials, production schedules, forecasting, and inventory flow.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to align procurement strategies with production goals.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best balance of quality, cost, and service.
- Industry & Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and anticipate market price changes, providing monthly forecasts for key commodities.
- Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement projects and support alternative material and process recommendations.
- Product Development Support: Coordinate supplier efforts during new product development.
- Cost Management: Ensure accurate purchase cost standards and optimize procurement processes.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and IT teams to develop and implement procurement policies and systems.
- Leadership Engagement: Communicate effectively with Team leadership to align procurement strategies with company goals.
- 5–7 years of Buyer experience in technology/engineering manufacturing, preferably in a job shop or on-site setting.
- Proven track record of supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and procurement efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, forecasting, and MRO procurement.
- Experience leading process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software is a plus.
