Location: Brisbane CBD – Monday to Friday with WFH available
Day Rate: $1100/day incl/superannuation

As a Senior Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost forecasting to inform business performance and decision-making. You will play a critical role in cost control, financial reporting, and change management processes within our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate cost forecasts using data-driven insights and stakeholder engagement.
- Generate monthly earned value (EV), planned value (PV), and actual cost (AC) metrics to estimate project completion costs (EAC) while calculating key performance indicators (CPI/SPI).
- Prepare detailed and accurate calculations for Value of Work Done (VOWD), forecast reporting, and trend data for benchmarking.
- Support the production of Latest Estimates (LEs) and Operating Plans (OPs).
- Assist delivery teams in producing Project Change Requests in alignment with management of change procedures.
- Work closely with Planning Engineers to integrate cost data with project schedules using Primavera P6 and other systems.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, including complex formulae, large dataset manipulation, and preferably Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) & Power BI.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to cost engineers, including training and knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive experience in project controls and cost engineering, particularly within the oil & gas sector.
- Strong IT proficiency with cost control systems (SAP, EcoSys).
- Proven change management skills and ability to drive process improvements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data effectively.
- Commitment to Goal Zero, ensuring safety and operational excellence.
- Ability to foster collaboration and maintain transparent communication across stakeholders.
- Experience in unconventional oil & gas projects is highly advantageous.
