ConsultingOur client, an Oil and Gas Operator, are currently hiring a Trading Analyst to join the team in London on a contract basis.
Description:
The main functions of a Trading Analyst are to gather and analyse market data, monitor trading activities, and support trading strategies. A typical Trading Analyst is responsible for analysing and communicating market trends and trading performance for the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Assemble and maintain spreadsheets, draw charts and graphs to illustrate technical reports.
Analyse market data to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in trading decisions.
Interpret data affecting trading programs, such as price, yield, stability, and future trends in market risks.
Monitor and report on trading activities and performance.
Support the development and implementation of trading strategies.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
Ability to work independently and manage ones time effectively.
Ability to analyse market trends and project future trading performance.
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of trading data.
Familiarity with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to trading.
Proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and any other related trading software.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline required.
An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred.
Assignment Deliverables
Trade Desk Support Analyst responsibilities include:
• Accurate and timely updates to the trading capture system throughout the life of each deal
• Daily analysis and reporting of earnings, exposure and mark to market to advise and explain business performance
• Working closely with team members in trading, finance, risk control and operations to manage and understand commodity earnings and exposure
Working as part of global teams to identify and implement process improvements utilising new digital solutions
