Are you ready to take on the role of HSE Advisor for one of the leading oil and gas facilities in Western Australia? Join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring environmental compliance and driving performance improvement using Human and Organizational Performance principles. This is a 12-month contract with high potential for extension, based in the beautiful town of Onslow.

Role Overview

• Environmental Compliance Champion: Provide practical guidance to our site team on environmental regulations, permits, impact statements, and monitoring, with a strong focus on compliance and improvement.
• Safeguard Assurance Expert: Conduct field-based verification and validation activities to ensure our environmental safeguards are in place and effective.
• Supportive Team Player: Collaborate with our site-based team to manage dangerous goods, waste, and environmental sampling, while also providing basic Health and Safety support when needed.
• Relationship Builder: Foster strong working relationships with our HSE, Business Partners, and support teams to align and streamline our environmental activities and processes.
• Incident Investigator: Utilize Chevron-approved methodologies and HOP principles to investigate incidents and facilitate learning events.
• Emergency Management Team Member: Act as a member of our site's Emergency Management Team, participating in exercises and responses to ensure the safety of our workforce.
• Environmental Fluency Builder: Educate our team on all things environmental, including spills, waste management, water sampling, hazardous materials, drainage, air emissions, lighting, fauna and marine life management, vegetation and fire management, and more.
• Partnership Developer: Collaborate with Operations personnel to deliver exceptional environmental performance.
• Risk Management Pro: Utilize your expertise in risk management to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.

Skills & Qualifications

• Environmental Expert: Demonstrated experience in environmental management in a field environment, with a strong understanding of Western Australian HSE legislation.
• HOP Enthusiast: Practical understanding of the updated OE management system and Human and Organizational Performance concepts to support environmental management and prevent serious incidents.
• Influential Communicator: Proven ability to influence without authority and build respectful relationships with various stakeholders, from frontline workers to site leaders.
• Visible Leader: Be a visible HSE professional who can adjust communication styles to provide clear guidance and influence improvements in environmental performance.
• Qualifications in Environmental Management: Hold relevant qualifications in environmental management to showcase your expertise.
• HSE Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in a resource company operating site.
• Oil and Gas Facility Knowledge: Previous experience working on an oil and gas facility is highly desirable.

Education & Experience

• Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management or related field preferred.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in environmental management or HSE advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles.
