EngineeringKBKG Tax Consulting Firm is seeking a Senior Professional Engineer to join our Green Building Tax Incentives team in Pasadena, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, or Chicago, available in any of our local offices (hybrid). This is an engineering position situated within a growing tax incentives firm. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing energy calculations, conducting inspections and certifications required for 179D tax incentive studies. The position will involve travel approximately 50% of the year.

Responsibilities include:
- Inspections & Compliance: Conduct building inspections of commercial and multifamily buildings to assess energy efficiency for 179D tax deduction eligibility.
- Data Analysis & Certification: Collect and analyze building system data and information to accurately assess energy efficiency. Sign and Certify calculations.
- Client Guidance: Provide expert consultation to clients, building owners, and peers on all aspects of 179D tax incentive.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and tax professionals, for an integrated approach to 179D tax incentives.
- Travel - Travel may be required, 30-50% travel with travel up to 75% for short periods. All travel is domestic.
- Communicate and resolve questions with clients while building lasting relationships.
- Work closely to provide general oversight and guidance with our team of energy modelers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer Required in at least one state.
- (3) or more years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with construction design and construction processes. The ability to read, interpret, and explain engineering and architectural drawings is required.
- Travel 30%-50% Domestically with periods up to 75% Travel
Preferred:
- Experience in energy modeling and energy simulation software
- Experience in building energy efficiency engineering and/or sustainability
- Experience with tax incentives
- Advanced degree is a plus
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards for commercial and multifamily residential buildings.
- Proven experience in building inspections, energy efficiency assessments, and certification processes.
