The Senior Materials and Corrosion Engineer, you will be responsible for reaching project completion, to the required specifications and on schedule. You will work alongside subject matter experts to shape and support the delivery, providing solid technical advice and solutions to our clients across multiple sectors.
The successful candidate will be required to interface with oil and gas operators and Tier 1 engineering contractors, Renewables, Hydrogen transportation systems, carbon capture in support of greenfield and brownfield engineering projects.
You will represent Wood as a key technical consultant by sharing knowledge and experience to aid overall development of competencies within the Team, Group and Company to enhance overall project delivery to clients. This role offers a high-profile position in a highly visible and motivated team, with the exciting opportunity to be part of a significant growth group with ambitious plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write technical reports based on assessments, calculations, and inspections;
• Lead the Implementation of RBI commercial software;
• Provide materials and corrosion related expertise and recommendations.
• Produce material selection designs/reports.
• Lead the development of inspection work packs;
• Liaise with specialized engineering disciplines to execute the integrity program and to resolve integrity related concerns;
• Perform, lead and support corrosion assessments and corrosion modelling;
• Perform basic cathodic protection calculations (anode mass, number, size, location) for subsea.
• Produce engineering calculations based on engineering concepts and API/ASME standards;
• Liaise with specialized engineering disciplines for resolution of integrity related concerns;
• Involvement with industry associations and academic institutions;
• Participate in studies regarding Risk Based Inspection and fitness assessment of pressurized equipment;
• Project management
• Interface with clients, personnel, and subcontractors
• Perform QA/QC checks and review material and corrosion related work.
• Compliance with the company's Quality and HSE policies.
• Achieve company goals / personal KPI's.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Engineering degree (or greater); Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Petroleum or related specialty required.
• 3+ years of experience as corrosion/materials engineer in oil and gas required.
• Proficiency with corrosion modeling programs preferred.
• Proficiency with integrity management databases preferred.
• Strong report writing experience preferred.
• Willingness to develop a wide range of skills and flexibility to work on a variety of projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
