As a Lab Manager & Reliability Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in managing our laboratory operations and ensuring the overall reliability and performance of our products. Combining your expertise in laboratory management and reliability engineering, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the lab while driving initiatives to enhance product reliability. Your responsibilities will include managing lab resources, coordinating testing activities, analyzing product failure data, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve reliability issues. Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. With your passion for continuous improvement and your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, you will contribute significantly to the reliability and success of our product portfolio. You will report directly to our Hardware Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Raleigh, NC location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will have a direct impact on the overall reliability and performance of our products. Your expertise in laboratory management will ensure efficient and effective testing processes, while your reliability engineering skills will fortify our products against vulnerabilities. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will establish a proactive and integrated approach to product development. Through comprehensive reliability testing, including accelerated life testing, analysis of product failure data, and implementation of corrective actions, you will significantly enhance the overall reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage laboratory operations, including resource allocation, equipment maintenance, and testing coordination
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to plan testing for new products
  • Support testing of new products during development
  • Design tests and analyze results to guarantee products meet Honeywell quality standards
  • Analyze product failure data, identifying root causes and trends to implement corrective actions and improve product reliability.
  • Conduct comprehensive reliability testing, including accelerated life testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve reliability issues
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the lab team and other stakeholders

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 6 years experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory operation and management principles and practices
  • Experience with / perform product quality testing such as accelerated life testing
  • Experience in analyzing product failure data and implementing corrective actions
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities
