EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support the Health, Safety, and Environmental management system.
- Maintain relevant HSE logs.
- Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.
- Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility management.
- Participate in detailed incident investigations and promote incident prevention to benefit employees and visitors.
- Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training.
- Observe HSE regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, and correct obvious hazards immediately, or report them to the proper personnel.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY / GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in formulating, implementing, and maintaining basic policies, programs, and techniques necessary to achieve company goals and regulatory requirements related to safety and environmental issues.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with safety and environmental agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory issues.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with department managers and supervisors to provide for and ensure that employees receive training and development in promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
- Recognize potential HSE issues and monitor corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop and conduct HSE training as necessary.
- Locate, consolidate, label, and store waste following governmental regulations, coordinate waste removal and disposal with qualified waste haulers and disposal sites as well as all relevant documentation.
- Prepare and file required HSE reports.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation by contacting external organizations and bodies in order to be familiar with new developments in HSE.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Exposure to moving equipment while on the production floor.
- Exposed to loud noise when walking within the production floor.
- Works in an office environment setting roughly 50% of the day, 50% of the day is spent on the production floor pending operational needs.
- Exposed to occasional hot and/or cold weather depending on outside climate and shop temperature.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
- Assist in formulating, implementing, and maintaining basic policies, programs, and techniques necessary to achieve company goals and regulatory requirements related to safety and environmental issues.
- A minimum of 5 years of HSE experience
- Good analysis and reporting skills are required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with software such as JDE, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, UKG Pro Workforce Management, and others as they become available.
