Your role and responsibilities

ABB is looking for a skilled Field Service Technician to join our national field service team. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Electrical Fitter License, demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, and be proficient in essential Microsoft Office applications. In this role, you will perform testing, diagnostics, and service work on large-scale rotating electrical machines with low to medium complexity, following ABB's standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will also be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and collaborating closely with customers and other ABB teams. The work model for the role is: Travelling to and working on various customer sites, nationally. You will be primarily accountable for: • Performing field service tasks, identifying and analyzing technical problems, and coaching associate technicians. • Troubleshooting equipment and process failures, recommending corrective actions, and proactively planning and executing work to ensure quality and timely completion. Providing technical guidance and training to associates and customers. • Preparing material lists for service activities, ensuring the availability and quality of materials, parts, and equipment. • Preparing and signing customer documents and reports, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up on completed work. • Applying safety rules, practices, and environmental responsibilities, while reporting unsafe practices and incidents. • Enhancing customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work, ensuring superior customer experiences, and identifying on-site improvement opportunities.

Qualifications for the role

• Hold a valid Electrical Fitter License, showcasing your expertise and qualifications.
• Bring at least 2 years of hands-on experience in the industry, demonstrating your practical knowledge and skills.
• Exhibit a strong mechanical aptitude, proving your ability to tackle technical challenges with ease.
• Be proficient in essential Microsoft Office applications, ensuring you can efficiently manage documentation and communication tasks.
