As a Project Engineer at Emerson, you will collaborate with an outstanding team across multiple locations to achieve customer approval and deliver high-quality project documentation.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Review assigned project specifications, project proposals, and technical queries and deviations during the pre-bid stage.
- Assist the Project Manager (PM) in technical and planning functions; assume project management responsibilities in the absence of the PM.
- Take complete responsibility for mechanical project engineering, addressing all technical aspects of the project.
- Liaise with customers and Local Business Partners (LBPs) on both technical and commercial aspects of the projects.
- Manage the mechanical project engineering team within the Center of Excellence (COE) in Pune and other globally located teams.
- Work with designers/engineers to generate and review critical project drawings such as P&IDs, GAs, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Generate and review project mechanical datasheets, documents, and specifications, including sizing as per VDRL, in accordance with project specifications.
- Apply knowledge of equipment such as valves, actuators, flow meters, flow control valves, thermal relief valve sizing, and strainers.
- Be familiar with piping design, pressure drop calculations, structural steel design, platforms, handrails, and Ceaser analysis.
- Prepare project documents such as Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Factory Acceptance Test Procedures (FAT), and IOM manuals.
- Provide mentorship to mechanical designers in preparing and checking mechanical drawings, as well as reviewing detailed drawings.
- Raise RFQs for engineering components, review offers, and provide technical clearance.
- Generate fabrication specifications for mechanical assembly work required for skid building.
- Supervise skid installation and assembly at fabricator locations.
- Conduct internal and customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Collaborate with project team members to ensure smooth project interface and integration.
- Raise change of scope requests from clients as part of commented documents to the PM.
- Assist commissioning engineers during pre-commissioning activities.
- Adhere to local and international Emerson trade compliance procedures in all transactions and business practices.
- Fulfill any other reasonable duties as required.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical and instrumentation (E&I) tasks, including work with mechanical equipment, basic inspection, and testing activities.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5-8 years' experience in the design of metering skids and analytical package manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of Oil & Gas Industry equipment, instruments, piping, and structural work.
- Profound knowledge in the application of various types of meters for gas and liquids measurement; familiarity with ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, API MPMS, ISO, and other industry standards related to Oil and Gas measurement services.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software for design and drafting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other engineering software.
- Strong Adobe PDF skills.
