Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will be entitled of medium to high complex service and project work according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. In close cooperation with customer and other ABB teams, take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB. The work model for this role (onsite) This role is contributing to Process Automation Business Area based in Doha Qatar. You will be mainly accountable for: • Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. • Reporting unsafe practices and incidents. • Leading HSE activities at site. • Contributing to customer satisfaction by planning and executing Service work according to customer order and expectation. • Clearing understanding of sense of urgency and care in the direct area of responsibility. • Ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experiences and effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. • Working with customer to identify opportunities in the installed base to improve system performance and operational performance improvements. • While on-site, working with the customer to identify opportunities for improving the customers operations and eliminating pain points. • Utilizing the local practices for notifying the account team of opportunities. Service delivery • Planning and prepares site work for larger project team and manages related subcontractors at site. • Performing complex field service tasks, identifies technical problems, and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform. • Coaching technicians and engineers and supervises complex site activities. • Supporting the certification process of associate field service engineers and field service engineers. Materials and supply • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensures that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities. • Preparing all documents and customer reports to be signed by the customer representative. • Utilizing all relevant tools. • Reporting work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed. Troubleshooting • Troubleshooting equipment/Systems/Process failures and requests proactive corrective actions and makes recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future. • Acting as a technical consultant in own specific area of expertise. • Proactively planning and executing work on a first-time right approach with customers, and ensuring the job is done on time and on quality. • Identifying improvement needs and potential solutions for them in the way of working and the products in question and drives improvement actions in own area of responsibility. • Developing, coaching, and providing technical guidance to colleagues. • Acting as trainer when needed, for team members and customers. • Working independently towards managing customer sites - both onshore and offshore system installed bases (40-50% average yearly time in sites) • Giving trainings to customers

Qualifications for the role
- Qualifications for the role:
- Graduate Engineer in Electrical/ Electronic / instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience in System 800xA with IEC61850 engineering, documentation, testing and commissioning experience
- Experience in System 800xA PMS libraries -engineering, documentation, testing and commissioning experience
- Being an analytical thinker, self-starter, resilient and highly adaptable- in line with ABB's latest advance service.
- Working knowledge / skillset in industrial communication protocols like IEC104, Modbus- RTU & TCP, OPC, IEC61131 etc.
- Experience in Industrial networking, network switch configuration
- ICS Cybersecurity competence is an added advantage
