We are looking for piping & layout engineers to strengthen our front-end department Concept and Studies in Bergen, Haugesund, and Stavanger. As a piping & layout engineer, you will work in a multi discipline team to develop, select, and follow up the technical solutions in our designs. The work will be within all project phases, including concept development studies at different levels, support to tenders, and detailed project execution (EPC).

About the position

In this position you will be working in C&S with early phase studies and concepts. This is a discipline role which requires both technical understanding and a multidisciplinary mindset, supported by understanding of the market mechanisms and the potential commercial impacts of selected solutions. In this position you will be responsible for Piping and layout design for platforms, floaters, topsides and onshore plants, including establishing designs based on field descriptions, specifications, experience, and necessary assumptions. This also involves material handling layout design, problem-solving, optimization, and finding new solutions for design challenges. Knowing Aibel's business is not essential, but you will be expected to acquire an understanding of our company so that you can align the opportunities with Aibel's strengths, delivery models and strategic focus.

Responsibilities and tasks include

• Be the key resource within Piping and Layout design within Concepts & Studies
• Responsible for Piping and Layout description, design, and development in tenders, studies, and concept development
• Support and assist Business Development (BD) within Piping and Layout issues as well as marketing
• Responsible for knowledge of relevant national and international rules and regulation (PSA, NORSOK, API and ISO etc.)

Qualifications

• Higher technical education mechanical engineering or other relevant background
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience and competence
• Experience with concept development work
• Knowledge of methods and technologies for layout and material handling design
• Knowledge of regulations and rules for layout design
• Fluent in written and oral English, Norwegian is an advantage
• Preferably experienced with E3D modelling and within oil and gas

• Have the ability to develop within untraditional conceptual thinking and challenging established truth
• High level of personal efficiency and ability to manage work situations to produce required deliverables
