Green Mountain Power is seeking an energetic, innovative Power Production Intern this summer. The internship position is a great opportunity for a mechanical engineering or technically oriented student to gain practical and real world working experience in the electric utility industry. By the end of the internship program, this student will have acquired knowledge on electrical mechanical circuits, mechanical generators, various electrical equipment, communication, and more importantly, they will have learned how to work as part of a team across various business units.

The successful candidate will apply technical knowledge gained from their mechanical engineering coursework or technical background, in order to learn the fundamentals of GMP's power production systems. This position requires candidates to quickly learn the innovative tools and software used by GMP for its power generation efforts, understand GMP's design standards and equipment specifications, and work extensively with other mechanical engineering and field personnel to efficiently perform the tasks.

This wind tower technician intern will spend their time primarily working at our Searsburg wind generation facility. In addition, they will be spending time working on our hydro production plants and solar generation facilities.

Candidate requirements:

• Valid driver's license
• 18+ years of age
• Ability to climb to heights of 130' (and successful completion of evacuation procedure)

The top candidates will have:

• Previous climbing experience
• Basic knowledge of electricity
• Knowledge of hand tools
• Knowledge of electronic circuits
• Knowledge of gear boxes
