POSITION:
We are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join our engineering team and to build on our successful line of power products. This individual will help design and develop industrial battery chargers, inverters, and supporting accessories across a wide power range (150W to 100kW) in support of critical power applications. This person will be involved in concept investigation and design through successful production launch and support.

Base Compensation: $100,000 to $175,000 is the projected range of annual base salary for this role depending on the candidate's overall qualifications and experience. You may also be eligible to receive bonus and benefits.
Location: This is a majority on-site position at SENS offices in Longmont, CO. Opportunity for partial remote work.

We are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join our engineering team and to build on our successful line of power products. This individual will help design and develop industrial battery chargers, inverters, and supporting accessories across a wide power range (150W to 100kW) in support of critical power applications. This person will be involved in concept investigation and design through successful production launch and support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement digital control loops in Microcontroller DSPs for a variety of complex power conversion topologies using "C" code.
- Design analog power circuits using off the shelf ICs for lower power systems.
- Design, analyze, simulate, prototype, and test power conversion circuits and products.
- Write and test embedded code for charger/inverter algorithms, operation, and alarms.
- Power magnetics design of transformers and inductors.
- Create technical documentation throughout the development process including specifications and interface control documents.
- Conduct peer to peer and cross-functional design reviews.
- Transition designs into mass production.
- Provide problem resolution support for production and field issues as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar related field with 4 or more years of experience, or a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Power Electronics.
- Solid grasp of multiple power topologies both isolated and not to solve complex conversions at various power levels.
- Candidates must have strong knowledge of control theory and expertise with designing, modeling, trouble shooting, and verifying stability of digital power supply control loops.
- Familiar with use of network analyzers and their use to measure and test controller designs.
- Expertise in programming embedded microcontrollers in C and C++.
- STM32 and TI C2000 series is a plus
- Must have experience using lab test equipment such as high-speed digital scopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and logic analyzers.
- Experience taking a design from concept into volume production.
- Flexible team player who actively establishes and maintains effective working relationships and who is willing to help wherever needed.
- The ideal candidate would have experience with Energy Storage Systems, AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion, and batteries.
