Design and implement the Facility Integrity Management Program (FIMP) for NiSource's Supplemental Gas facilities, including Royal Center Underground Storage, Rolling Prairie LNG facility, and three propane distribution systems. Provide centralized support and serve as technical advisor to those responsible for program execution. Satisfy current and changing regulatory and compliance requirements through continuous program review and revision. Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain central archive of program roles and responsibilities for program execution.

Job Summary

Essential Functions
- Actively seek and incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders related to performance and support.
- Maintenance of service-focused working relationships with Operations partners. Work collaboratively with the operations department and ensure that this relationship is maintained in a positive manner. Keep an approach to this relationship that is geared towards the operations department being our customer and providing a high level of service.
- Represent Compliance and Technology as a subject matter expert in support of regulatory filings and proceedings at state and federal level.
- Support process to influence regulatory proceedings through industry associations and other opportunities through providing feedback and input to the integrity management team's development of responses and part of the company's response to NPRM's.
- Build, promote and enhance collaborative relationships with Public Utility Commissions, industry associations, company affiliates and other potential business partners.
- Assist areas in preparation for Commission Audits. Collaborate with Standards and Compliance Leaders, peers and local operations to prepare preventative strategies to eliminate repeat offenses.
- Key Stakeholder on decisions to update Company O&M policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit periodic mandated reports to external agencies.
- Align individual objectives with department goals and projects to ensure that corporate needs and objectives are met.
- Maintain awareness of decision-making impacts to capital and O&M budgets and recommend best cost alternatives to meet budgetary constraints.
- Attend conventions, conferences, etc., which relate to functions performed by the department.
- Provide seasoned operations consulting to Field Operations.
Integrity Management Engineer 1
Required Qualifications For Position
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree from an ABET accredited program
- 1+ years of relevant job experience
- Demonstrated PC skills and software knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Understanding of the utility industry
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP)
- Knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS)
- Knowledge of pipeline safety regulations related to gas distribution facilities
- Knowledge of industry standards related to gas distribution design and operations
- Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
- Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and standards
- Knowledge of technical business applications (e.g. DIS, GIS, WMS, CIS, MAXIMO)
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification EIT certification within 2 years
- Professional Engineer (PE) License P.E. license within 6 years of employment (initial hire date after 2016)
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Upon Hire

Required Qualifications For Position
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree from an ABET accredited program
- 3 years of Operations experience (IME 1)
- 5 years of Operations experience (IME2)
- Demonstrated leadership experience over complex programs or projects
- (IME 2:) Successfully satisfied Advancement Criteria
- Strong background and understanding of pipeline safety regulations related to gas distribution or transmission facilities.
- Strong background or knowledge of industry standards related to gas distribution or transmission design and operations.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strong organizational & planning skills.
- Demonstrated direct interface in providing support to commission audits and inquiries.
