SURF Material, Welding and NDT Specialist Engineer

Summary 
We are seeking an experienced SURF Material, Welding and NDT Specialist Engineer to join a major deep-water oil and gas development project. This role involves ensuring technical excellence across material selection, welding, corrosion, and NDT activities during the FEED, Call for Tender, and EPCI phases. The position is based in Paris with travel to contractor sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee material selection, welding, and NDT engineering activities during the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve contractor documentation to ensure compliance with project and company standards.
• Lead technical clarifications, evaluations, and qualifications during tender processes.
• Supervise and validate testing, qualification, and fabrication activities at contractors’ workshops and offshore sites.
• Ensure adherence to H3SE, quality, and compliance standards across all technical activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and technical teams.
• Provide technical expertise during project reviews and assist with lessons learned and close-out documentation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering with specialization in Material Sciences or equivalent qualifications (e.g., ESSA, IWE).
• At least 10 years of experience in offshore oil and gas SURF deep-water projects.
• Expertise in NDT techniques including AUT, Phased Array, TOFD, and IWEX.
• Proficient in relevant codes and standards (e.g., DNV).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience in multicultural environments.
• Ability to travel and work on-site at fabrication yards, laboratories, and offshore locations.
• BOSIET certification is desirable.
