QC Supervisor Welding/NDE (with Coating) - Tanzania

On behalf of a major operator, WRS are seeking a highly skilled Quality Supervisor to oversee Welding, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and Coating processes on a large-scale infrastructure project. This role will be integral to ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and safety protocols for pipeline construction and above-ground installations (AGIs).

Location: Tanzania (Site-based)
Rotation: 8/2 rotation
Rate: Day Rate USD

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the implementation of safe work practices and project H3SE policies.
• Coordinate Welding, NDT, and Coating qualification processes for contractors, ensuring alignment with project standards and specifications.
• Evaluate and approve contractor method statements and procedures in collaboration with field engineering teams.
• Oversee inspections, tests, and repairs related to Welding, NDT, and Coating activities in compliance with ITP hold points.
• Monitor and ensure proper maintenance of Welding, NDT, and Coating equipment and materials.
• Facilitate training programs and ensure competency of contractor workforce in Welding, NDT, and Coating activities.
• Conduct audits of contractors and vendors for compliance with project standards.
• Track materials used in pipeline construction, including certifications, lengths, and stock provisions.
• Support failure analyses for Welding-related issues and optimize production processes.
• Review and validate contractor documentation packages and test results.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Relevant technical qualifications with certifications in Welding, NDT, and/or Coating.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in similar roles on large-scale construction projects, preferably in Oil & Gas or pipeline sectors.
• Certifications:
  • Welding: CSWIP 3.1 (minimum) or equivalent.
  • NDT: Certified to ISO 9712 or ASNT CP-189 (techniques: PAUT, TOFD, UT, RT, MT, PT).
  • Coating: BGAS CSWIP Grade II, NACE CIP Level II, SSPC, or ICORR Level II.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS) and fabrication drawings.
• Proven experience working with multicultural teams and managing contractor performance.
