Job Purpose

Co-ordinates and carries out Petroleum Engineering activities related to Reservoir Management processes and activities.

Collects performance data for all wells (oil, and water injectors), analyses well and reservoir problems, recommends investigative and/or corrective measures to Supervisor and supervises the implementation in the field in collaboration with TL Reservoir Management, Ops and Drilling PE's.

Co-ordinates daily, related activities with Ops, DD, Site Authority, and other concerned personnel. Prepares, E well books, OFM, MBAL and well test analysis with SAPHIR.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

  • Prepares investigative programs and discusses with Supervisor and supervises the implementation on problematic wells,
  • Coordinates action programs and follows-up progress.
  • Analyses status of problematic wells post investigative and/or corrective action to provide technical support for recommending workover.
  • Alerts Supervisor on any unsafe well for urgent action.
  • Reviews routine or special procedures for related activities such as Safe emergency shutdown/safe installation/reinstallation/removal of equipment and monitors activities as necessary.
  • Provides support to offshore personnel in investigating specific problems and recommends alternative course of action.
  • Alerts of any shortfall(s) that may later adversely affect acceptance of the Reservoir Management activities.
  • Assists Supervisor in reviewing and accepting the (newly drilled/ worked over) well integrity certificate issued by Drilling Operation Division.
  • Implements the surveys (e.g., annulus, temperature, PLT, MFC, pressure gradient surveys, cavity test), tests requirement for efficient monitoring of well integrity.
  • Follows-up and supervises the implementation of monitoring surveys.

Analysis Reports
  • Assists Supervisor in the preparation of annual field status report and highlights strong and weak areas.
  • Examines, on daily basis, rig activities' summary sheet and summarizes related activities for Supervisor's review.
  • Prepares periodic reports on wells status.
  • Maintains well data management in PC and individual well files.

Technical Enhancement
  • Staying up to date with the latest software developments and new applications which are of potential value to the Division.

People Management & Development
  • Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Works in accordance with the established Company Policy and Procedures

  • Determine work methods from alternative existing methods in accordance with established policies and professional standards.

  • Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of Drilling Operation Division systems, processes and practices taking into account 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  • HSE Compliance
  • Ensure that Drilling Operation Division complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across all operations and support function and all projects, to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Supervision
  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

  • Provide input for preparation of the Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver Section objectives.

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
  • Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Contact with line Manager/ peers and other employees within the company/Group as required

External Communications & Working Relationships

Internal
  • Reports directly to Team Leader, Reservoir Engineering and team member within Development and Operations Division on the ongoing operation and project.
  • Daily interactions with Reservoir Engineering Specialist and staff within the department and division regarding project execution.
  • Key decisions having significant impact on the development are referred to the TL Reservoir Management for approval before implementation.

External
  • Frequent contacts with OPCO staff, on joint studies or drilling projects carried out by the OPCOs.
  • Occasional contacts with consultants and contractors on projects carried out for Al Dhafra.


Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in petroleum or Reservoir Engineering or equivalent.


Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum 8 - 12 years' experience of Petroleum Engineering activities related to well completions, workovers, wireline, annulus pressures monitoring, etc., 3 years of which should be in supervisory capacity, preferably in offshore location.
