Are you ready to take on the role of HSE Advisor II for a major oil and gas client? As a Contract HSE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations in Port Fourchon, Louisiana.
Role Overview
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current health and safety policies, regulations, and industrial processes to ensure compliance.
- Review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to ensure they meet safety requirements.
- Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of various industrial control mechanisms and ensure buildings and products comply with health and safety regulations.
- Coach, teach, and mentor team members on best practices for health and safety.
- Lead investigations using methods such as TapRoot or Cause Mapping to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage waste management processes to ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct machinery and equipment inspections to identify potential hazards and make necessary corrections.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure overall environmental conformance and compliance.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and regulations related to health and safety.
Skills & Qualifications
- HSE experience with at least 10-15 years in an industrial or land setting.
- Strong leadership qualities to effectively coach and mentor team members.
- Investigation training using methods such as TapRoot or Cause Mapping.
- Knowledge of waste management processes and regulations.
- Familiarity with industrial control mechanisms and building/product compliance.
- Understanding of health and safety policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
- Ability to identify and correct potential hazards in facilities, machinery, and safety equipment.
- Experience with HAZMAT and proper disposal procedures.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Certifications in HSE or relevant fields advantageous.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in an industrial or land setting.
