ICAPS Coordinator
Position: ICAPS Coordinator
Location: Kampala, Uganda (Office-based with occasional site visits)
Duration: 18 months

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced ICAPS Coordinator to join a large-scale onshore oil & gas project. The role involves coordinating and interfacing with contractors, overseeing commissioning activities, and ensuring the effective management of ICAPS databases and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and update the ICAPS database, ensuring accurate tracking of pre-commissioning & commissioning activities.
  • Interface with contractors, project teams, and commissioning disciplines to validate project documents and workflows.
  • Oversee punch list administration, tracking outstanding work, and ensuring all items are addressed.
  • Ensure pre-commissioning & commissioning dossiers meet company specifications.
  • Lead ICAPS training sessions for company personnel.
  • Generate progress reports and ensure all commissioning activities are documented appropriately.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors’ QA/QC departments to align with OPERCOM methodology.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the petroleum industry, with 5-7 years in commissioning/start-up roles on large greenfield projects.
  • Strong expertise in OPERCOM methodology and ICAPS tools.
  • Experience managing ICAPS databases in previous projects.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to liaise across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment with global contractors.
