EngineeringNES Fircroft are supporting a subsea corrosion company who are looking for a Project Engineer to join their Perth team in a permanent position.
Position Overview
As a Project Engineer at our subsea corrosion control company, your primary role will be to provide project management support, document control, and coordination for projects related to subsea corrosion control and cathodic protection. While some technical knowledge in corrosion control is beneficial, this position is designed for individuals who may not have in-depth corrosion expertise initially. You will have the opportunity to learn about subsea corrosion control and cathodic protection, with the option to explore corrosion science or pursue a career in Project Management within our organization. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project Engineering, Support and Coordination
- Assist in the planning and execution of engineering, fabrication, manufacturing and offshore installation projects.
- Assist in writing Project Quality Management Plans and overseeing the execution of projects within those plans. This may involve inhouse engineering and manufacturing as well as managing the quality of external providers, such as outsourced fabricators and specialist suppliers.
- Work within the companies ISO9001 Quality Management System
- Coordinate project activities, resources, and schedules.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are on track, within budget.
- Cost control: Use Salesforce to create and maintain an invoicing forecast. Communicate with accounts receivable and Finance Manager when to invoice clients.
- Perform CP calculations and potentially take AMPP (NACE) courses to improve your knowledge of corrosion control and cathodic protection.
2. Third-Party Fabricator & Overseas Supplier Managemen
- Manage relationships with overseas thirdparty fabricators, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality requirements, and cost objectives.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to verify compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems and contractual obligations.
- Oversee logistics and supply chain coordination, ensuring efficient material flow and ontime delivery of components.
- Address and resolve production challenges, quality concerns, and delivery delays through proactive communication and problemsolving.
- Ensure that all manufacturing documentation is accurately captured and adhered to as per client specifications, including but not limited to ITP, MDR, MOC, TQ, material traceability.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with stakeholders, addressing technical concerns and providing timely project update
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain product integrity and conduct root cause analysis for defects or process deviations
3. Document Control
- Maintain and organize project documentation, including reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Implement document control systems and best practices, in accordance with companies ISO9001 Quality Management System.
4. Learning and Development
- Acquire knowledge of subsea corrosion control, cathodic protection, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with technical experts to gain insights into corrosion science.
- Attend training and workshops to enhance your understanding of subsea engineering.
- Have the opportunity to transition into a Project Management or other technical/commercial role within the company.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, and risk assessment.
- Learn project management software and methodologies.
5. Site Work / Travel
- Be prepared to travel domestically and internationally on short notice to project sites to gain firsthand experience and provide project support as needed. Travel is ad hoc and typically associated with project offshore inspections and installation.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years' of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer, or project manage
- Strong experience in AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suit.
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
