Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation Superintendent to join our team for a long-term contract in Qatar. The role involves overseeing the instrumentation installation and commissioning for a major LNG project, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent industry trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds).
Valid certifications issued by internationally recognized bodies.
Minimum of 15 years of field supervisory experience in instrumentation discipline.
Over 10 years of proven experience within EPC and/or client organizations.
Extensive knowledge of instrumentation and controls systems in the LNG industry, including transmitters, metering/level devices, fire & gas (F&G) systems, control valves, loop checks, and installation processes.
Familiarity with international codes, standards, and safety regulations specific to onshore LNG facilities and utility systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the Company focal point for instrumentation installation scope, reviewing and approving contractor submissions.
Ensure all work complies with contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements .
Provide technical oversight and leadership , ensuring efficient execution of instrumentation works.
Collaborate with engineering, safety, quality, and construction teams to align with project goals and schedules.
Monitor contractor performance, ensuring project milestones, schedules, and deliverables are met.
Participate in constructability and construction readiness reviews , providing technical input and improvement recommendations.
Conduct site walk-throughs , verifying safety standards, work efficiency, and compliance with daily plans.
Attend planning, risk assessment, and safety meetings , providing technical expertise and mitigation strategies.
Review and approve contractor plans, procedures, method statements, and PTWs .
Evaluate contractor competency processes and personnel qualifications to ensure compliance with company and governmental requirements.
Develop and submit daily and weekly reports on progress, challenges, and risk mitigations to project leadership.
