EngineeringOur valued client, Woodside Energy are currently looking for an Integrated Commissioning and Start Up Process Engineer.
About the Role:
The position of Integrated Commissioning & Start-Up Process Engineer will be seconded into Woodside's selected EPC contractor for ~1.5 years, working at Pluto LNG in Karratha on anticipated 21/7 roster pattern.
Post Mid 2026, the candidate will return to Woodside Energy and there is opportunity to support PT2 in an operational engineering role.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Resolving process system issues, within and across systems. This includes locating and diagnosing trouble in mechanical equipment, components and systems, developing technical solutions, preparing change documentation.
- Perform process designoriented tasks specifically for CSU team - operability, plant troubleshooting and control studies using process models if required.
- Perform plant shutdown, warm startup and other tests in training simulator and ensure validity of the results.
- Produce additional calculations, capable of process checks and HYSYS simulation model of the plant to simulate different operating cases and modes for the plant to assist in achieving reliable and steady state plant operation.
- Support disciplines within CSU and the Operations team during precommissioning, commissioning, and startup, to maximize system reliability and availability.
- Evaluates the installation of Vendor Packages against meeting compliance requirements and provides technical support of equipment performance during commissioning and startup.
- Ensures that the EPC and local/national safety codes, and international standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of Commissioning/Startup activities. Actively participates in safety review programs.
- Establishes and maintains contacts with client, supplier, regulatory bodies, project management, engineering, and field personnel. Represents startup on project teams as assigned.
- Provides technical guidance and at times overall project startup supervision.
- Reviews Commissioning/Startup plans, schedules, and works with team members to meet completion dates. Coordinates between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Process (or equivalent) Engineering
- The ideal candidate possesses a broad technical experience of commissioning, startup, operation, maintenance, and testing of process & utility systems/components of oil & gas processing facilities.
- Good leadership skills & able to provide technical guidance for testing, startup, and operations activities.
- Experience on LNG projects desirable.
- Possesses effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner. Collaborates well in a team environment.
- Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to startup, maintenance, operations, or testing.
