Wood is recruiting for a Sr. Project Controls Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible to provide Cost & Planning support to projects during the Front End Engineering, Detailed Design & Procurement phases of a Project.
Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sr. Project Controls Engineer will be responsible:
• Provide cost and planning engineering support for projects as required
• Develop and maintain Cost Time Resource catalogue for Projects within your portfolio of work.
• Develop and maintain project control plans specific to the varied assigned projects.
• Manage and maintain Work Breakdown Structures, project controls systems and interfaces with financial accounting systems within existing Procedures and Guidelines.
• Develop and Maintain Project Plans and schedules, using standard business software such as Primavera P6.
• Implement, practice and Monitor Quality Management System (QMS) in FEED office projects in line with ISO 9001-2015 requirements
• Develop progress measurement systems and monitor progress at agreed intervals, ensuring Progress and hours spent are reported accurately.
• Analyze and access the project schedule and cost performance and advise the Project Engineer / Lead of deviations to schedule & cost and recommend corrective actions to maintain the schedule and / or cost.
• Produce regular progress and cost reports, plus ad-hoc reports as required for the Project.
• Provide information for a database of cost and schedule historical data for benchmarking and KPI development
• Develop and maintain project change control register. Access the impact of changes on schedule and cost, advise the Project Engineer / Lead of such impact
• Attend inter-discipline meetings and project meetings with project teams and clients as required
• Create demonstrable value for customers by understanding their drivers and critical success factors
• Capture/apply internal and external learnings and incorporate improvements
• Deliver continuously improving performance, benchmarked as top tier in the industry
• Time write correctly each week
• Ensure own discipline work is successfully delivered on time with quality and appropriate reviews / checks are conducted regularly.
• Contribute to excellent HSE performance throughout the project life cycle
• Maintain effective interfaces and relationships within/between disciplines and peers in other Projects teams and Customers.
• Identify areas of standardization in own discipline and contribute.
• Train & coach own discipline trainees on project controls and provide awareness for other discipline trainees.

Experience:
• Minimum 6 years in FEED/Engineering and Minimum 10 years in oil & gas Experience.
• Engineering degree or equivalent Technical Qualification with relevant industry experience
• Good Computer skills including MS Office, Primavera and other planning software and tools.
