Job Overview:
The Marine Vessel Assurance Specialist ensures the performance and compliance of contractor marine vessels with established procedures, regulations, and project requirements. The role involves monitoring vessel performance, assisting with planning, conducting audits, and providing technical support for marine vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor contractor marine vessel performance, ensuring adherence to specifications and approved procedures.
- Assist with project planning, procedure reviews, and technical support for marine vessel execution.
- Contribute to the development of SIMOPS documents, ensuring all parties understand marine activities and their impact on adjacent work.
- Act as the Company Site Representative or Marine Vessel Assurance Specialist on Diving Support Vessels and transportation vessels during field execution.
- Conduct marine vessel inspections prior to mobilization and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and vessel-related emergency responses.
- Conduct equipment audits to ensure certifications are up to date and manage the close-out of audit actions.
- Oversee the Management of Change process and act as the point of contact for marine vessel queries on-site.
- Perform daily walk-throughs on vessels to monitor safety, progress, and housekeeping.
- Supervise the contractor's closeout reporting and develop 'lessons learned' upon project completion.
Qualifications:
- Master Mariner's license in compliance with STCW II/2.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Master Mariner.
- At least 3 years of offshore marine supervisory experience on Diving Support Vessels (DSVs) or DP2 transportation vessels.
- Extensive experience on marine vessels, including Diving Support Vessels and DP2 vessels.
- Familiarity with marine inspection, lifting and rigging, IMCA requirements for DP2 vessel operations, and STCW requirements.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of marine vessel operations, safety, and inspection processes.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Proven ability to manage audits, emergency responses, and incident investigations.
