This Position reports to:
Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute medium to high complex service work in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers and ensuring excellent customer service. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility while taking actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries Business based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Performing low to medium Service tasks like installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades and retrofits, repair independently, identifying technical problems and making analysis through remote or on-site activity in different.
  • Service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, extensions, replacements, upgrades and retrofit, end of life service etc.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Creating and maintaining a good relationship with customers and understanding their needs. Identifying new sales opportunities and taking influence in convincing the client for the complete service portfolio.
  • Coordinating, preparing and ensuring that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Preparing all documents and reporting to be signed by the customer representative. Reporting work done in a timely manner and follow up when needed Identifying potential equipment failures and proactive corrective actions.
  • Troubleshooting complex equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future Identifying suggestions for product, quality and customer service improvement and discusses them with management for changes.
  • Ensuring that HSE practices are of high standard. Working to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents.
  • Consistently applies functional processes considering links to other teams.


Qualifications for the role:
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Automation/Instrumentation Engineering related disciplines with minimum 1-2 years' experience in Automation & Controls Systems.
  • Good understanding of HMI, DCS, Scada, PLC, IT, OT, P&ID, Safety & automation systems with preferred knowledge in ABB Automation Systems (800xA / Symphony S+).
  • Experience in Maintenance / Testing & commissioning / FAT / SAT in Automation System are mandatory.
  • Experience with Electrical Network Monitoring and Power Management Solutions is a plus, and knowledge of digital solutions such as cybersecurity is an added advantage.
  • Preferable working experience in Oil, Gas & Chemical plant/ Offshore/ Power & Water Industries.
  • Ability to travel without any restriction. Position is based in Selangor, Malaysia but require travelling & work outside of Malaysia like Asian Region, Offshore & etc.
