Job Title: Estimation Engineer (MEP/HVAC)

Job Summary:
The Estimation Engineer (MEP/HVAC) is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for MEP, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Fire Suppression Systems within Oil & Gas industrial buildings and substations. The role involves coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontract teams to ensure comprehensive bid preparation. The candidate must have strong technical expertise, experience in project execution methodologies, and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare cost estimates and bids for MEP, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Fire Suppression Systems in industrial buildings and substations.

Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and develop cost estimates accordingly.

Interpret technical documents, drawings, and scope of work to estimate necessary resources.

Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Subcontracts, and other discipline engineers to collect relevant project data.

Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and vendors for bid clarifications and technical discussions.

Attend pre-bid meetings, technical discussions, and bid clarification meetings with stakeholders.

Design MEP and HVAC systems for tendering purposes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Prepare technical and commercial queries related to tenders to ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements.

Perform detailed reviews of Bill of Quantities (BOQ), work content, and pricing to ensure accuracy in estimates.

Take off BOQs from drawings and project specifications and validate them against project scope.

Ensure compliance with estimation norms, productivity rates, and market benchmarks for MEP and HVAC systems.

Collaborate with internal teams to optimize costs while maintaining quality and project requirements.

Ensure timely submission of bids and tenders within company policies and guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience in MEP, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Fire Suppression System estimation.

Proven track record in EPC / Construction / Maintenance / Turnaround / Shutdown / Brown Field Modification Projects.

Strong design and engineering experience in MEP, HVAC, and Fire Protection Systems.

Familiarity with estimation norms, market rates, and productivity standards.

Previous site experience in a technical or supervisory capacity (Gulf experience preferred).

Sound commercial and contractual knowledge.

Strong technical expertise in project execution methodology.

Proficiency in estimation software and cost analysis tools.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
