This position can be located in either Coatesville, PA or Katy, TX.
As the Field Service Engineer reporting to the National Aftermarket Director, you will provide field service engineering in the form of managing startups, troubleshooting field issues and questions, overseeing repairs, performing site audits, and providing other on-site service, primarily for Aerzen process gas blower and compressor packages. These responsibilities require a blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a keen understanding of safety protocols.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree: 4-year college or technical school preferred. Engineering and/or Chemical Sciences or
Experience: Degree or training certificates specific to rotating equipment, especially in the oil and gas, refinery, petro-chemical, and/or power generation industry. 5 plus years of related experience in field service, startups, troubleshooting, inspections, etc.
Technology Aptitude/Skills: Windows, Microsoft Office, Business Central, previous experience with enterprise-wide software systems and/or customer relations management software.

As the Field Service Engineer reporting to the National Aftermarket Director, you will provide field service engineering in the form of managing startups, troubleshooting field issues and questions, overseeing repairs, performing site audits, and providing other on-site service, primarily for Aerzen process gas blower and compressor packages. These responsibilities require a blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a keen understanding of safety protocols.
What you will do:
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Oversee installation and initial operation of gas processing equipment and systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
- Equipment Startup: Perform equipment / system startups for process gas projects. Duration can be upwards of 4 weeks, often in multiple trips. Startup responsibility includes ensuring equipment is properly installed (checking alignment, wiring, etc.) prior to starting, ensuring all subsystems are functioning properly, verifying operating data (pressures, temperatures, flows, vibrations, etc.), making necessary adjustments in the system to correct any performance issues, checking other system factors (for example, pipe vibrations), and other steps on a job-specific basis to obtain customer acceptance/signoff.
- Documentation: Keep thorough customer visit records in the form of detailed daily reports, records of operating data, photos, and other details about the customer site, machine performance, customer discussions, etc.
- Installed Base: Manage existing installations by keeping in contact with job sites and conducting site visits and audits as needed. Develop sales and service opportunities (new orders, replacement equipment, spare parts, and service).
- Communication: Professionally interact with Aerzen project management, engineering, production, and regional customer support personnel. Provide feedback and knowledge regarding specific customers, equipment, and orders. Specifically, communicating and implementing lessons learned from site visits.
- Inspections: Travel to sub-vendor facilities to support customer inspectors and/or third-party inspectors. Range of work is from observing a test being conducted by others to conducting tests directly in person, such as alignment, transmitter wiring and calibration checks, paint inspections, etc.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with equipment and processes to ensure continuous operation.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and standards, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
- Process Optimization: Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from various sensors and instruments to monitor process performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Training: Receive and provide training from/to internal Aerzen colleagues on machine assembly, testing, repair, and operation, as well as training on general system design and components such as seals, bearings, control valves, instruments, etc.
- Internal Support: When not traveling, support the Process Gas team by participating in design reviews, reviewing documents and data, assisting with incoming inspections, assisting with oversight of shop assembly work and testing, providing insight on questions, concerns, and issues, assisting with equipment specifications, and other needs that are in line with expertise.
- Internal Leadership: Serve as the primary internal contact for Aerzen Service and Customer Support Teams, handling requests for troubleshooting, component quotes, and service/repair support for installed process gas equipment.
- Travel: Domestic and international travel will be required to support customers as well as for training. Potential visits to job sites prior to startup to ensure customer readiness and proper installation.

- Experience: Experience in at least one of the following industries: oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, power generation, pharmaceutical
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of gas processing equipment and systems.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Ability to read drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and other engineering documents.
- Root cause analysis skills - critical thinking ability.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in monitoring processes and maintaining accurate records.
- Communication: Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and report issues clearly.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in the industry.
