Are you an Engineer with experience or interest in the technology behind flexible pipes? Join our team as an Engineer in Pipe Design Methodology and contribute to sustainable energy solutions in a dynamic and international environment.
Headquartered in the greater Copenhagen (DK) area, we have large manufacturing sites in Kalundborg (DK) , Porto do Acu (Brazil) and Glenrothes (UK). With additional offices in Northern Denmark, Norway, Brazil, North America and Africa, our global team of almost 1,500 employees is dedicated to delivering energy solutions to the world. As part of the Pipe Design Methodology Department, you will contribute to various tasks involved in developing methodologies for flexible pipe projects. You will specialize in a failure mode of the pipe, engaging with everything from standards like API 17J and B to modeling, testing, manufacturing, and software tool development. Your work will be tailored to leverage your strengths, ensuring success in your role.

The Pipe Design Methodology department has approximately 20 employees presently in Denmark and Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. You will be part of and contribute to a knowledge community that is the backbone of the models behind our flexible pipe. With teamwork and knowledge sharing we are contributing to R&D, product development and continuous improvements to assure reliable and cost-efficient products for our clients.
You will engage closely with material-, testing-, manufacturing- and engineering disciplines and your abilities to identify optimal solutions across disciplines will be a key. That includes understanding the failure mode, test validation, analytical- and numerical modelling, deviation support and input to decision support systems for manufacturing.
You will have plenty of opportunities to excel your creativeness in the development and maintenance of our methodologies that ensures robust and cost-effective products.

You will specialize in a failure mode of the pipe, engaging with everything from standards like API 17J and B to modeling, testing, manufacturing, and software tool development. Your work will be tailored to leverage your strengths, ensuring success in your role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand relevant standards, such as API 17J and DNV-RP-A203.
- Review existing public domain knowledge from papers and publications.
- Provide input for test scopes and corresponding analyses to validate failure modes.
- Conduct analytical and numerical modeling using Python and/or Abaqus.
- Develop internal and external documentation packages.
Qualifications:
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in engineering (mechanical, civil, ocean/naval) with some relevant work experience.
- Experience in mechanical engineering, such as solid mechanics and thermal analyses.
- Proficiency in numerical simulations, ideally with Abaqus.
- Programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
It is nice if you have...
- Experience in subsea engineering and flexible pipe design.
- Strong organizational skills and a track record of achieving results.
