Mechanical Engineer PE / PM - HVAC / Plumbing

Job Overview

Our client, a locally owned and highly respected engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer PE / PM with expertise in HVAC and/or plumbing design to join their growing team. This is a full-time, direct-hire position offering competitive compensation, excellent benefits, bonus/401K plans, and generous PTO.

• Experience Level: Mid-Senior (6+ years)
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related Engineering field

Key Responsibilities

• Design and generate AutoCAD and/or Revit files for MEP engineering needs across various building types, including commercial offices, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, healthcare facilities, and multifamily housing.
• Project Management: Establish schedules, assign resources, and monitor project performance to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
• Maintain and organize all mechanical engineering documents and schedules, including project-related general documentation.
• Review mechanical design submittals and conduct on-site visits to resolve any conflicts, questions, or issues.
• Generate and present project status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop new business opportunities by fostering relationships with new and existing clients.

Must Have:

• Current Professional Engineer (PE) License in Mechanical Engineering.
• HVAC and/or plumbing design experience in commercial offices, multifamily housing, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, and healthcare facilities.
• Proficiency in Revit (AutoCAD is less preferred but still relevant).
• Experience managing projects from inception to completion.
• Strong communication skills to interact with subcontractors, project owners, and stakeholders.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or TN visa holder.

Nice to Have:

• Project management experience in the MEP sector.
• Advanced experience in Revit; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Experience using HVAC modeling programs such as TRACE700, CHVAC7.0, and AIRMaster.
