We are looking for an HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) Mud Engineer to join a project until end of 2025 in Spain (Bilbao)!

Function description

As our HDD Mud Engineer your main tasks will be:

• Design and manage drilling fluid systems (suited for black lutite rock (11-50MPa);
• Monitor and adjust mud properties (viscosity, density, pH, rheology) to optimize drilling performance;
• Ensure proper mud mixing and treatment to maintain stability in long crossings (1000-1200 meters);
• Prevent and manage downhole issues;
• Collaborate with drillers and supervisors to adapt mud formulations based on drilling conditions

Requirements

For this job, you need to have:

• Right to work in the European Union (Mandatory);
• Good English level (minimum B2);
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluids (mixing properties, and maintenance);
• Experience working in rock formations preferably black lutite;
• Familiarly with HDD drilling equipment, preferably HK 300 Electrical Rig;
• Proven experience in HDD crossings of 1000m+

Función descriptiva

Como Ingeniero de Fluidos HDD, tus principales tareas serán:

• Diseñar y gestionar sistemas de fluidos de perforación (adaptados para formaciones rocosas de lutita negra (11-50 MPa)).
• Monitorear y ajustar las propiedades del lodo (viscosidad, densidad, pH, reología) para optimizar el rendimiento de la perforación.
• Asegurar una mezcla y tratamiento adecuados del lodo para mantener la estabilidad en perforaciones largas (1000-1200 metros).
• Prevenir y gestionar problemas en el pozo.
• Colaborar con los perforadores y supervisores para adaptar las formulaciones de lodo según las condiciones de perforación.

Requisitos

Para este puesto, necesitas tener:

• Derecho a trabajar en la Unión Europea (obligatorio).
• Buen nivel de inglés (mínimo B2).
• Sólidos conocimientos en fluidos de perforación (propiedades de mezcla y mantenimiento).
• Experiencia trabajando en formaciones rocosas, preferiblemente lutita negra.
• Familiaridad con equipos de perforación HDD, preferiblemente HK 300 Rig eléctrico.
• Experiencia comprobada en perforaciones HDD de más de 1000 m.
