Our Project team are currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer / Coordinator to join their team. This position will be based in our St. John's office with casual business trips to Ingleside, TX and transition Offshore Newfoundland for the completion of project scope.

What will you be doing?

  • Onsite technical commissioning engineer leader for all temporary commissioning utility systems
  • Technical rep accountable for monitoring and advising to ensure all temporary systems operate as per design.
  • Advise the commissioning team on how to optimize the temporary system to ensure all commissioning goals are met.
  • Overall project management support of all commissioning scopes
  • Support the development and execution of all commissioning plans including but not limited to, cause and effects testing, dynamic commissioning procedures, etc.
  • Perform and document design reviews
  • Conduct on-site construction inspections and complete associated reports
  • Identify, track, and lead reconciliation of non-compliance issues discovered during commissioning
  • Participate in design review meetings
  • Support creation of commissioning plans
  • Prepare commissioning reports
  • Plan and coordinate your efforts with design team members, facility operations staff, contractors, and end users
  • Liaise with the commissioning team leads to update the integrated commissioning schedule.
  • All other tasks as requested by the Commissioning Manager


We think you should have:

  • Engineering Degree or related experience and education.
  • Excellent written communication and report writing including, verbal communication to a wide range of audiences, including owners, end users, design team members, and contractors
  • Ability to work self-directed
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents, controls and instrumentation documents, and electrical wiring diagrams
  • Ability to analyze trend data, root cause analysis and trouble shooting ability
  • Understanding of applicable codes for a wide variety of facilities
  • Committed to accomplish tasks safely with efficiency.
  • Has a good knowledge of the project completion process, from construction to the completion of the performance test.
  • Familiarity with completions systems, and the completion of the system documentation required (Inspection Test Reports).
  • Has strong operational experience, and is capable of leading the commissioning team during the facility start-up, stabilization period, and execution of the facility performance test.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in Project jurisdiction.
  • Experience working in a Project work site environment and coordinating with other disciplines.
  • Experience working in an offshore and/or shutdown environment would be an asset.
  • Successful completion of an offshore medical and regulatory training required for Offshore Newfoundland
