GreenSpark Solar is seeking a Renewable Energy Business Intern to join our team for a twelve-week summer internship program starting May 19, 2025. Under the direction of the Executive Administrator, the Impact Team Intern will contribute to impactful projects that align with GreenSpark's mission to expand clean energy solutions. This role will focus on research, analysis, and strategic planning for new markets, pricing strategies, and process improvement efforts. It provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in market entry strategies, financial modeling, and operational efficiencies, all while contributing to the company's overall success. This internship is local to the Rochester, NY region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis & Entry: Conduct market research and develop detailed market entry plans for potential geographic or technology expansions, such as fleet charging or growth into new states like Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate on rapid-cycle process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and supporting solutions to enhance operational workflows.
- Pricing Strategy: Support the creation of value-based pricing strategies by researching customer value, building financial models, and contributing to pricing and financing processes.
- Team Collaboration: Attend weekly department meetings and monthly All Company meetings to stay aligned with business goals.
- Professional Development: Participate in internship activities and professional development opportunities to increase your knowledge of the company and solar industry.
- Networking: Engage in company events to expand your professional network.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications:
- Current enrollment or recent completion of coursework in renewable energy, sustainability, environmental science, urban planning, business, or related fields required.
- Experience with financial modeling, SWOT analysis, and strategic planning is highly valued.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to task management.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work independently.
- Interest or experience in renewable energy, solar, or sustainability is a plus.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset for identifying opportunities, problem-solving, and driving projects forward with creativity and initiative, is preferred.
- Experience with Google Suite, GIS/map-based tools, SmartSheets, or other project management software preferred.
Internship Program Details:
- Program Duration: 12 weeks, starting May 19, 2025.
- Work Schedule: A typical workday is about 8 hours, primarily based at GreenSpark Headquarters. There may be occasional opportunities for remote work, depending on project needs and supervisor approval. Job site visits may also be part of the internship.
- Transportation & Lodging: Interns are responsible for their transportation to and from work and lodging. If transportation is a barrier, please reach out to discuss possible accommodations.
