Job Description – Senior Instrument Engineer  

Part A: Job Specification  

Job Purpose  Provide maintenance and engineering support to asset instrument andoperation team.  

Reporting and Relationships  Reports to Lead Instrument Support (North/ South/Terminal & Refining). Direct report: None.Internal Frequent contact with asset maintenance, operations, and functionengineering. Periodic contact with project engineering, Audit department, IT department,supply department, Laboratory, process surveillance, HR.External Frequent contact with resident contract engineers and technicians. Periodic contact with OEM and other contractors for maintenance.  

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)  Operates in technical environment with interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Required to contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks whilst providing expertise in specialised area.

Key Job Accountabilities 1. Ensure the execution of maintenance quality verification program for the department.2. Support operations and asset maintenance in day-to-day troubleshooting including Level-2complexity Issues and PM/CM activities as per maintenance strategies.3. Initiate eMOC’s which do not require studies, support engineering in feasibility study andImplementation of EMOC recommendations to the asset instrument team.4. Provide inputs to Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) team for improving systemmaintenance strategies, participate and contribute to Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), riskscreening, Formal Risk Assessment (FRA).5. Develop and provide input to the budget, IT demand plan, technical training plan.6. Review availability and requirements of spares and raise Stock Amendment Request (SAR) asper requirements.7. Support review and development of maintenance procedures.8. Provide in house technical trainings to asset maintenance team as a part of technicalcompetency program.9. Manage contracts to support Instrumentation maintenance and repairs.10. Lead emergency shutdown (ESD) tests as per ESD test procedure for the department. Part B: Person Specification – Minimum RequirementsQualifications  6 years’ instrumentation and control experience in oil and gas or petrochemical. Knowledge of surge controls, control valve maintenance, turbine instrumentation, various field instruments like DPT, RTD, thermowell, RADAR LT etc. Intermediate knowledge of SAP systems.  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science majoring inInstrumentation & Controls Engineering.Knowledge and/or Experience Technical and Business Skills Computer literacy of advanced level in Microsoft Office and database applications.  

Qualifications Bachelor’sdegreeinEngineeringorSciencemajoringinInstrumentation&ControlsEngineering. Knowledgeand/orExperience 6years’instrumentationandcontrolexperienceinoilandgasorpetrochemical.Knowledgeofsurgecontrols,controlvalvemaintenance,turbineinstrumentation,variousfieldinstrumentslikeDPT,RTD,thermowell,RADARLTetc.IntermediateknowledgeofSAPsystems.
