NES Fircroft are delighted to be partnered with an Energy Industry giant who are looking to add an Engineering Manager to their team working on a multi-billion dollar Oil & Gas project.

The role will be to support EPC phase of the project and will be based from our clients sub contractor offices in UAE.

Position will be contract based for an initial 12 months duration. It will offer a strong day rate and associated contractor package.

Role overview
  • Oversee all engineering activities to ensure successful project delivery for the Gas Network Well Pads and Pipelines package.
  • Manage the engineering team to ensure effective coordination and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the quality of engineering deliverables aligns with project requirements and standards.
  • Coordinate between engineering disciplines to facilitate seamless project execution.
  • Maintain compliance with project technical and safety standards throughout all engineering activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Package Manager, Construction team and Engineering discipline engineers to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks.
Key Activities
  • Contribute to identify safe by design opportunities to eliminate, avoid, reduce or mitigate the HSE risks during construction.
  • Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure all activities are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to high-quality standards considering past projects lessons learned.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to discipline engineers, ensuring alignment with project objectives and industry best practices. Ensure engineering documentation produced by contractor, including Master Document Register, is fit for purpose.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to verify they meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Manage design changes, ensuring all modifications are properly evaluated, documented, and communicated.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across different disciplines, including pipeline, piping, instrument, technical safety, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, to ensure a cohesive approach.
  • Work closely with Engineering discipline engineers, such as Process / Pipeline / Electrical / Instrument / Technical Safety Engineer / Civil & Structural / Lead Mechanical / Piping, to integrate quality and safety considerations into all engineering work.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on the project.
  • Ensure that any engineering issues are promptly addressed and that all solutions are effectively communicated to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain engineering quality standards, ensuring all deliverables meet client’ quality requirements.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Quality Lead to ensure compliance and address any quality concerns.
  • Act as the main point of contact for engineering-related matters with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide engineering support to procurement and construction teams, ensuring alignment throughout the project phases.
  • Identify opportunities for improving engineering processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Share lessons learned and incorporate them into future engineering activities to enhance project delivery
Budget and Team reports

Entity Budget: Oversees the engineering budget for the NWP package.

Staff Managed: NWP Process Engineer, NWP Pipeline Engineer, NWP Electrical Engineer, NWP Instrument Engineer, NWP Technical Safety Engineer, NWP Civil & Structural Engineer, NWP Lead Mechanical Engineer

Accountabilities
· Lead the engineering team to deliver the Network WellPads and Pipelines package in line with project requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations.
· Ensure effective coordination between engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders to support project delivery.
· Oversee compliance with all relevant standards and regulatory requirements throughout the engineering process.


Experience & Qualifications Required
Professional Experience
  • Minimum 10 years in engineering management, preferably in large-scale oil and gas sector.
Experience in similar position
  • 5-8 years in a leadership role overseeing engineering activities, particularly in EPC projects.
Technical Skills
  • Strong technical understanding of multidisciplinary engineering practices, including Process, Pipeline and Piping, Instrument, Technical Safety, civil & structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage design changes, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions
Level / Diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
Languages
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Soft Skills
  • Strong leadership and Communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
  • Effective team management and work with multidisciplinary teams.
