Lead Engineer, Mechanical Completion

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer, Mechanical Completion to oversee all mechanical completion activities on a large-scale offshore energy project. This role will be instrumental in ensuring smooth transitions between construction, commissioning, and final handover, working closely with engineering, construction, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Mechanical Completion Planning & Preparation:
- Define project deliverables based on requirements.
- Develop and review Mechanical Completion and Handover procedures.
- Oversee the population and maintenance of the Completions Management System (CMS) database.
- Ensure timely issuance of Inspection Test Records (ITRs) to suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams.
- Conduct training on CMS usage and completion processes for project stakeholders.
✅ Mechanical Completion Execution:
- Oversee the completion of ITRs and compile Mechanical Completion Dossiers.
- Track and report punch list status, ensuring readiness for the next phase.
- Monitor completion progress and support teams in meeting certification targets.
- Participate in audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
✅ Mechanical Completion Coordination:
- Engage with engineering, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve data and certification issues.
- Expedite the completion of ITRs in coordination with construction, quality, and commissioning teams.
- Plan and organize punch walkdowns and certificate sign-offs.
- Maintain documentation and implement lessons learned for process improvement.
✅ Relationship & Compliance:
- Collaborate effectively with client teams and project stakeholders.
- Uphold health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) standards.
- Ensure compliance with ethical business practices and corporate policies.
What You Need to Succeed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical certification.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in EPC projects within the offshore oil & gas or FPSO sector.
- Track record of completing at least three FPSO projects covering marine and topside modules.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in mechanical completion management, commissioning certification, and project execution.
- Strong knowledge of marine and topside systems, quality assurance, and HSSE requirements.
- Experience working with Completions Management Systems (CMS) and related software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office tools.
