Wood is recruiting for a Control Systems Technician to join our team in Equatorial Guinea.
The incumbent is part of client's EG Engineering Team reporting to the Control Systems Supervisor. The Control Systems Technician is responsible for reliable performance of the Programable Logic Controllers installed in the MEGPL gas plant and offshore complex. The primary objective is to sustain the automation of the associated gas plant and offshore processes. To be successful the Control Systems Technician must fulfill several roles and responsibilities.
Location: Equatorial Guinea
Rotation / Work Pattern:: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off, 7-day week / 12 hour day

The Control Systems Technician is responsible for reliable performance of the Programable Logic Controllers installed in the MEGPL gas plant and offshore complex. The primary objective is to sustain the automation of the associated gas plant and offshore processes. To be successful the Control Systems Technician must fulfill several roles and responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring, bypassing, forcing, and modifying various PLC and DCS programs and hardware while utilizing both ladder logic and function block programming routines. PLCs include, but are not limited to: Allen-Bradley's Flex I/O, Allen-Bradley's SLC-500, and Allen-Bradley's Control Logix.
- Monitoring, modifying, and troubleshooting graphic software packages and hardware for Human Machine Interfaces (HMI). HMIs include Allen-Bradley's Panelview, Total Control's QuickPanel and GE Data Panel.
- Monitoring, bypassing, forcing, and modifying various fire detection and suppression panel programs and hardware in accordance with: NFPA 12, NFPA 13, NFPA 72, and NFPA 2001 standards. Fire panels include, but are not limited to: Det-tronics EQP, Kidde's Aries, Notifier's AFP-200, AFP-300, NFS-320, Fike's Shark and Siemen's MXL.
- Promote Health, Safety and Environmental aspects related to STOP, Good Catch Program, Life Critical Procedures, training, etc.
- Support Marathon's Responsible Operations Management System (ROMS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) systems by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety & Corporate Social Responsibility.
- Attend and participates in team meetings and provides input.
- Participate in the continuous development of safe work practices/operating procedures and promote environmental stewardship through example.
- Complete assigned MOC responsibilities and ensures Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR) is conducted.
- Attend and participates in team meetings and provides input.
- The Employee commits and is obliged to render services in the position with the Company under the terms and conditions set forth in this Job Scope Description and to carry out the functions that the Company entrusts to him/her at any given time.
QUALIFICATIONS

Essential requirements for role:
- Associates Degree in Electronics, Electrical Studies, Instrumentation, Process control, or Industrial Technologies or equivalent
- Several years experience in a similar Instrument/Electrical experience in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Power Generation
Desirable:
- Communicate effectively in English orally and written
- MS Office Suite computer skill
