Principal Transmission Lines Engineer (Civil/Structural)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Transmission Lines Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy specialising in power infrastructure. This position is available in Sydney, Perth, or Adelaide and offers the chance to take on a senior leadership role within a highly regarded team.
As a key technical leader, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-voltage transmission line projects, providing expert guidance on structural design, material selection, and industry best practices. You’ll play a pivotal role in mentoring a team of engineers while collaborating with stakeholders across the energy sector to deliver critical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of transmission lines engineers, driving technical excellence.
- Provide expertise in high-voltage transmission line design (AC and/or DC up to 500kV).
- Oversee project lifecycles from concept design to implementation and commissioning.
- Offer technical support, troubleshooting, and strategic advice to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Australian, ASCE, BSEN, and IEC industry standards.
- Contribute to industry discussions and build strong professional networks.
About You
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Extensive experience in transmission line engineering.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (or related discipline).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) accreditation (preferred).
- A deep understanding of tower design, from inception to mass fabrication.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to work across multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
