NES Fircroft is actively seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer in the Omaha Nebraska region for a permanent role with our client, a local Engineering and Design firm specializing in civil and structural work. This position will be a full-time permanent position with our client, ideally seeking at least an Associates Degree in Engineering if not a Bachelors.
Candidate would be responsible for all design elements for projects from conception to final delivery, and will be highly skilled in 3D CAD software.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Designer position is considered a mid-level position. The Mechanical Designer can work independently on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger. The Designer will understand and interpret project design requirements to assure exceptional project outcomes and client satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Perform all design elements, from conception to final delivery.
· Demonstrate technical ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.
· Prepare thorough and accurate 3D models, drawings, and sketches under the direction of the
design engineers, project managers and/or senior mechanical designers as needed.
· Ensure accomplishment of project goals through creative design solutions, effective planning,
organizing, estimating, and monitoring of work activities.
· Maintain high standards of quality and ensure all deliverables to clients meet the standard.
· Perform field work as required.
· Apply industrial safety design principles to project specifications.
· Collaborate across the organization to deliver high-quality design documents to customers.
· Maintain accurate records and files.
· Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
· Work with PM to deliver drawings on time and within budget.
· Review work and offer feedback and guidance to other designers and drafting technicians.
· Strive to continually improve job-related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and
performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Required:
· Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited design program.
· 5 years of related work experience.
· Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
· Excels working in a collaborative, transparent, and teamwork-based culture.
· Values ethics, and professionalism and maintains confidentiality.
· Advanced understanding of Engineering and Computer Software required to perform duties (MS
Office, AutoCAD, 2D &/or 3D CAD, BlueBeam, Navisworks, and other relevant discipline-related
software).
· Ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments and coordinate a variety of
tasks and deadlines with good attention to detail.
· Ability to develop detailed design, fabrication, plan, elevation, and isometric drawings to be
used in construction packages.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited design program
or 10 years’ work experience.
· Experience in Food & Beverage, Agricultural, Mineral Processing, and Power Industries.
· Strong working relationships with customers, contractors, fabricators, vendors, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to remain in a stationary position for approximately 6-8 hours per day.
· Ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders when visiting job sites.
· Ability to perform work on elevated surfaces when visiting job sites.
· Ability to work in varied environmental environments: heat, cold, wind, etc. when visiting job
sites.
· Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license, a clean driving record, and ability to operate a company
vehicle
· Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
